TEDx Constutition Drive www.tedxconstitutiondrive.com

The photos and video from the 2010 TEDx Conference – Constitution Drive have just been posted!

In November, I was asked to perform at this local TEDx conference, which had the theme “Trust.” It was a wonderful topic to reflect on as I prepared to sing for this inquisitive and thoughtful audience. My presentation was titled “Finding the Way Home,” and focused on my experiences as an artist thus far in following my true happiness.

Special thanks to the Pham sisters for a wonderful production and for including me in this special event.

Niall David PhotographyLast week’s show at Red Devil Lounge was wonderful. We had four acts on the bill for the rainy night, and had a great crowd of fans to enjoy the women-led bands.

Niall David (SFStation) was on hand to take some great photos!
He’s got the full album here (will expire in a few days).

Kaitlin McGaw & the Mr. Right Nows at Red Devil Lounge - Photo By Raymond RuizThe evening started with an acoustic performance from Liz Ryder, who as Brian Fox (my bassist) facebooked, was a combination of Joni Mitchell and Fiona Apple. Great guitarist and wonderful songwriter. After Liz, my friend Whitney Nichole took the stage, with some great new arrangements of songs that she’s about to release at her January 27 CD Release Party at Cafe Du Nord. Me & the Mr. Right Nows threw down after that. My good friend and collaborator, visual artist maestro Raymond Ruiz  shared some great images of our performance.  See Full Photo Album. KYRO closed the show with their signature sound – and we can’t wait to share the stage with them again in January.

We’ve got video of the show, so stay tuned for the youtube-u-lation of our holiday show.

It’s been a really fun beginning to the end of 2010, which seems like it has been unbelievably busy. I got to a place where I just wanted to go back to writing, creating, and playing – after dozens and dozens of shows and rehearsals for the past few months I think that’s where one ends up! This past few weeks I’ve started a few new songs, one co-written with a friend of mine who I had never made music with before, and the other with my cowriter Nick Phillips, which I’m sure we’ll bring to life at a show with the Mr. Right Nows at an early 2011 show.

I certainly want to keep the balance in going forward, especially since I need to get back to the studio this coming Spring to record all of these gems.
